Recently, there are countless of individuals who’ve been getting to difference places by using ridesharing services. Through our smart phones, ridesharing services become so accessible, making it convenient to use. Paying for the trip using credit card on your device is quite a new concept. As for those who hail rides using this app, they actually think of this. If you’ll just ponder about it, we are tipping waitresses, valets, baristas and taxi drivers, so what’s the exception with ridesharing drivers?
When talking about the concept of ridesharing and tipping at the same time, many commuters get confused. Most don’t have much idea on how the payment process works. As a matter of fact, people do not have much idea regarding the payment procedures on the ridesharing companies. Because of this, it is worth to mention that it is straight from the application where the payment procedures takes place. Because of this, it made passengers to think often that the tip is included in the fare price. Others however don’t have ideas that they’re allowed to tip. Tips are not mandatory but this is totally welcome and believe you don’t, the tips you give may either make or break the driver’s income.
The thing is, in some ridesharing apps don’t have a policy for tips. And this is where customer’s confusion sets in. Because the service charge is included already and the site isn’t mentioning to tip, people do not know if the driver is expecting a tip.
It’s worth to mention as well that most think that tip is calculated already in their final bill as what mentioned earlier. Commuters thought that part of their bill is intended for the tip that’ll go to the driver directly. There are different real life exchanges between the drivers and passengers underscoring the argument that many are getting confused to whether the matter of tipping included, appropriate or required. As you are about to pay for your ride, you must clarify your final bill and to what comes with it.
It won’t be an issue whether you tip or not as these drivers are real professional and take no hard feelings in the event that you don’t give them any. But of course they’ll feel glad if you do. These ridesharing apps can give you a more convenient trip to and from your desired destination while staying away from traffics as these drivers are well aware of the road and know the fastest route to get to wherever you want to be.
